I am happy to say that I finished Proverbs AND Ecclesiastes!!! I am so excited that I am doing so well!! In the past when I’ve read my Bible, I usually stop reading for months at a time, and than pick it up again…this time however, I can’t say that I’ve read it every day, but I am happy to say that I have read it most days!!
It’s a big accomplishment for me, and it has done a lot to strengthen my relationship with my Father, my God.

Well, in a rather upset and depressed state last night, I turned to The Word…I read something like 35 chapters, and I must say at the end, I was feeling much better!!! *LOL*…I finished Psalms, and got a small start on Proverbs.
I know that it’s not a race, to see who reads more Bible, or spends the most amount of time doing that. But I did have a great sense of accomplishment after reading so much last night!!
In any case, onward I go, through The Word of God….to discover many treasures that are there for my taking!

Since I did a post last night, about the protection that God has given me, through driving out to my sister’s house, and other places, I thought I would post Psalm 91, which is one of the most moving chapters in the Bible, as far as I’m concerned. The last part, in bold is a favorite passage of mine.
Psalm 91
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers, and unders His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in the darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”

Over and over I see the protection of God hovering around me. Going out to my sister’s house, as often as I do, I see many kinds of animals, quite frequently in the road.
Before I really started getting back into God, praying, and “all” that…I could pretty much depend on almost hitting something at least once a week… Since I have started praying again, believing God’s promises, and spending time with Him, I have never come close to hitting anything. We still see plenty of creatures, but I am always forwarned by the Holy Spirit, and have time to slow down, or the animals stay put, and don’t go dashing across the road.
I am forever thankful for the love and protection of my God!!!

Well I’m halfway through Psalms, and enjoying myself throughly (sp). One of the greatest things is that I have been reading in the evenings, as the girls are laying down to sleep. Megan falls asleep within 2 or 3 chapters…I am still trying to figure out if I’m just a boring reader, or if it’s the peace that comes with The Word…
Desi has been showing more and more interest in the Bible. Always asking if she can look through mine, and wanting to find specific things like the passage about the Armor Of Light. Desi even has James 4:7 memorized..Â
I am so glad I decided to get the girls a Bible this year for Christmas!!

Well, I’m into Psalms now. A personal favorite of mine, of course that’s said by many people, but still.
I must say that my memory of Job was pretty faulty. Here I was thinking that he was such an upstanding, faithful servant of God, through all his trials. While he never cursed the name of God, he was not exactly pleasant through his troubles either. The day he cursed the day of his birth, well isn’t that almost the same as cursing God??

Well I finish Nehemiah the other day…Finished Esther today. And onward we go!!! Job comes next, for those that aren’t familar with the Books of the Bible.
Job is a fairly long book, although I can’t remember how many chapters offhand…It is a constant reminder to me that God is always Greater than any problem I might encounter…and also that my life isn’t so bad, if I look at Job’s life….He lost his family, his land/crops, his health, and yet he stood firm in his Faith…a very smart man, whom I try to remember during my hard times…

Well I finally finished 2nd Chronicles last night, and also read Ezra this morning. My computer wasn’t working right this morning, so it gave me the perfect opportunity to read my Bible this morning.
I am happy to be over the hump!! I always seem to get stuck in Kings and Chronicles, and although it took me much longer to get through them than it should have, I still made it!! I am proud of myself, that I didn’t give up, and kept struggling through.
Hopefully I will keep the desire to continue on!!

Well, I am still struggling my way through 1 Chronicles….Should finish it tonight though, if I sit down and really put my mind to it! Will be glad to get through it, and I’m hoping to see the light of day, soon, and move onto some more interesting things!!
I have been reading my Bible to the girls almost every night as well. But with them we started with Matthew. If I had been somewhere a bit more interesting, I might have just picked up where I was, but being in the geneologies and who was king for how many years, just doesn’t capture my interest, so I didn’t figure it would theirs either….They are having great fun in Matthew though, with all of the parables, and they are just thrilled, when it is Jesus speaking!! *LOL*

Well I finished 2nd Kings. Took me like 3 days, which isn’t bad for 24 or 25 chapters…and they weren’t short chapters, let me tell you!! *LOL*…Now I’m on to 1 Chronicles, (is that spelt right??), although I haven’t done any Bible reading in 3 or 4 days now….*hangs head* Yes, I know, I have a consistancy problem in many areas of my life!! In any case, might do a bit tonight, and if not, have it on my agenda for tomorrow.
I can’t say that Kings was interesting really….got kind of boring hearing about all the Kings of Israel and Judah that were doing bad things, and not following the ways of the Lord…Okay, yes there were a few, but only like 3 or 4 through both books that actually did good in the eyes of the Lord…So it wasn’t all bad…*L*
I am truly hoping Chronicles is more interesting, but I don’t know for sure…I have read it several times before, but for the life of me, I can’t remember a thing about it…Which I have to say, doesn’t give me a lot of hope that it’s more interesting!! *LOL*
