What on earth will they think of next? Talking computers, talking watches, interactive this and interactive that. As I have said before I think we are much too wrapped up in electronics and the latest fads that are supposed to entertain us, or make our lives easier. Kitchen do-dads are a prime example to me…All these choppers and blenders, grinders, the 10 different knives that are supposed to cut anything and everything…I will admitt there are a few kitchen things that I would like to have, but nothing fancy. I’d like to have a shredder, to use for shredding cheese and such…it doesn’t have to be electronic, and I actually prefer that it not be electronic.

The only time I’ve ever seen someone wearing a tuxedo is in movies or pictures. Oh wait, no I take that back, my cousin Adam wore a tuxedo to his prom if I remember correctly. The point I’m trying to make I guess is that even at my wedding no one wore a tuxedo. If I get married again, I can’t say that I want everyone in tuxes and fancy dresses, but I would like to have a nice wedding dress for myself, and for my husband to at least wear something nice, a suit, of jeans with a suit coat or something like that.

It is likely when I get a car again that I will spend a little time on car insurance comparisons, just to make sure that I am getting the best deal possible. But I have to say that I have been quite happy with State Farm. The people in our office are very easy to work with, and when I had my accident the people that I talked to about that were helpful and easy to work with as well. I didn’t have any problems at all with them, and I find their rates to be doable as well.

I think all of this home theater stuff is being taken entirely too far. Home theater seating, home theater sconces, home theater sound systems, home theater this and home theater that. Can people not just enjoy sitting in front of a regular tv, and watching a regular movie without all the bells and whistles of fancy seating, fancy lighting, and fancy sound systems? I think we are much too wrapped up in electronics these days, and I think it has severely impacted how people opperate as a family.

The term life insurance rates seem about the same as every other kind of insurance, but than I am no expert on insurance rates. I have life insurance on me, but that is the only insurance I have right now. I don’t even have car insurance, because I don’t have a car since the accident. I can’t say that I am upset about that, not having a car, at least I am not wasting money on gas!! *LOL* I figure maybe I’ll be able to get a car with my tax money, but until then, we are doing fine without one.

My friend Amanda is having an awesome giveaway over at her blog, The Daily Planet.
Her giveaway is for something from the Homeschool Boutique. I just love this site, even though I haven’t been able to order from there yet, they are just full of great things for homeschoolers. T-shirts and tote bags, baby to adult, you can find something for you! It was and is very hard to say what is my favorite thing from them! I especially like their Scripture Tote Bags though, and would like to get one for myself, and one for each of the girls!
I am so happy to see more homeschool stuff. When I was homeschooled as a child it seemed almost unheard of, at least where I was living…we were like aliens from another planet or so it seemed when talking to other people. Now that I’m homeschooling my girls, it may not be an excepted practice, but at least not a completely forgein thought. And I am just thrilled to see t-shirts, totes and other products that proudly display that we are homeschoolers, and proud of it.
Amanda has several ways to enter her giveaway, so pop on over to her blog, by clicking the above link to her blog, or hop on over to the Homeschool Boutique by clicking the link above to see what awesome things they have!

I liked looking at jewelry while I was growing up, and still enjoy window shopping. I never liked the big chunky jewelry, or the ones with huge stones, but much prefered the smaller stones, and classic looking stuff verses the new age stuff. I don’t know, I guess I’m just old fashioned in a lot of ways.
I never even wanted diamond rings when I got married, but just a simple band. It’s not the ring that shows how much you love each other.

It seems, even though I have been at home, that I have not had time to do entries. In some ways life seems to be flying by at the speed of light, but in other ways it seems to drag on day after day.
A lot of time lately has been spent praying, reading my Bible, and reading to the girls. That is aside from schoolwork of course, which takes a pretty large chunk of time every day. The girls are doing well with schoolwork. I am proud of them, and we finally seem to have hit a pretty easy rhythm to getting our schoolwork done, as well as our chores everyday. I have found that the girls like working with math flashcards, as well as our personal favorite right now is Monopoly. We still work out of our Abeka books, but we take time for having fun math by playing monopoly. Not only do we get the money factory, and counting by 1’s, 5’s, 10’s, 20’s, and 50’s (we haven’t worked in the 100’s or 500’s), but we also use 2 dice to play, and when we roll the dice, we say 6+3=9 (or whatever the dice come up as). As we master addition, than we will move on to doing this with subtraction and muliplication as well. Monopoly is a great math game, even if people do give you funny looks after asking the girls what they did for math, and the girls say “we played monopoly”.
As for Bible reading, well I’m not a particular fan of reading out loud at all, but I have made it a point to read 1 chapter out of whatever book they choose (we are reading Call of the Wild right now), and than I read at least 1 chapter out of the Bible to them. We started in Genesis. After we read, we talk about what we read. It’s great!! The girls are asking more and more questions about God, and people in the Bible.
Well, that’s a brief update on our life right now. Blessings to you all, and thank you so much for your prayers and support!!!

Ahh yes, the age of dieting, and pills doing the work for you, although many of us don’t the price of using those pills, instead of sweating and developing some will-power. I have found some pretty effective appetite suppressants during my studies of medical terminology and transcriptioning. Skimming through a medical dictionary that has pictures is also pretty effective.
Today I was reading a chapter that detailed a lot of the STD’s, what they look like, how they develop, how contagious they are, and well…I think I will have my girls read that when they reach 15 or 16 years old. It should make for a very effective deterent, I know it did for me! *LOL*

You know those writing prompts that only give you a single word to make a post out of. I really do LIKE those types of prompts. You can be so inventive with those kinds of prompts. You can apply the word to your life, or you can make up a story or a poem using that word. I wonder what you could do witht the word Anoretix
Leave me a message with your post link, and I’ll come and check it out!
