As he settled in on his brand new home theater furniture, to watch his favorite football team play, he heard the phone ring…He gave serious thought to letting the answering machine pick it up, but decided against it.
He got up and answered the phone….As the person on the other end explained what was going on, all he could think was “Well that figures…get all set to watch the game, and now have to go into work. I knew this day off was too good to be true.”

Took King to the Vet as scheduled yesturday. The problems with his back legs is a very long story, but to make it short, he had to have surgery on one of them 2 years ago, and than yesturday I find out that he has really bad arthritis in the other.
He is at least 8 years old, and quite possibly quite a bit older than that. I got him from a shelter, and he was already adult size at that time, and that was 5 or 6 years ago. In any case, he has arthritis in his leg so badly that he won’t walk on that leg hardly at all….Doc gave me a anti-inflamatory….but it still leaves me with the question of what to do….I hate the thought of having him put down, he’s been a part of my family for so long, and I am the only one in his life that has loved him (even when he does bad things)…..and yet, it’s a matter of his quality of life…I don’t want him to be in constant pain, and misrable and depressed….
We will see how much these anti-inflamatory pills help, and see how things go…It will break my heart when his time comes, whether that is soon, or years from now.

The importance of health insurance could not be stressed enough in her mind. Even though she had a good job, the mounding medical bills would be daunting, if it wasn’t for her father’s health insurance!
She remembered when her father had first called her and told her that he was sick…She wanted to deny it, to forget about it, to act as if nothing had happened, but reality quickly intruded! She was still trying to grasp the reality that her father was not invincible! He had always been so big and strong, and yet now he was weak and pale. She shuddered to think of what the future might hold, and was determined to spend every moment possible with him.
