I recently heard a pastor talking about healing. He said “I believe that God heals when He wants, who He wants”….

I was dumbstruck…I couldn’t fathom God picking and choosing from His children who He would heal, and leave the rest of us suffering. Some also believe that sickness of any kind is punishment, because you have sin in your life. *shakes head*Is that really true?? Would God give us cancer just because we lied, or spoke harsh words to someone…Maybe we cussed, or sinned in some other way. Still, I can’t see someone, who died for us, died for our sins, giving us cancer, aids, or any other kind of sickness or disease.

Do  people really believe that sickness and disease is something that comes from God?? What about all the verses in the Bible that says that He wants us to be well and healed. KJV 1 Peter 2:24 says “by whose stripes ye were healed”…The NIV version says it like this “by his wounds you have been healed”.

I have a whole book of healing scriptures. 183 pages of scriptures, do take into account that this book repeats the same verses in 4 different versions, so that does account for some of the pages, but still, in the back they have a quick reference list that has over 125 different verses that pertain to healing.

Does this sound like He wants to roll the dice and pick a name out of the hat to heal??

I have to wonder what is that line between sexual abuse/molestation and normal happy parenting. Up until recently I thought it was a pretty black and white matter, but that was when I was thinking of the full blown matter of molestation…..I’m pretty sure I’ve lost you at this point, but try to stay with me….What about the lesser things, that could be, at least by some people, classified abuse/molestation.

The dictionary terms abuse this way: 1: a corrupt practice or custom 2: improper or excessive use or treatment : “/dictionary/misuse” <drug abuse> <abuse of tranquilizers>3 obsolete : a deceitful act : “/dictionary/deception” 4: language that condemns or vilifies usually unjustly, intemperately, and angrily 5: physical maltreatment

And the dictionary says that molest is: 1: to annoy, disturb, or persecute especially with hostile intent or injurious effect2: to make annoying sexual advances to; especially : to force physical and usually sexual contact on

I can’t even express how much we need your prayers right now!!! Or how grateful I would be if you would all join me in prayer!!! Stuff going on here at home, it’s beyond words right now, but needs lifted up to the Lord!!

I know that’s not a lot to go on, but is all I can give….

Keeping any pet healthy and happy is important, in my opinion. My family has always loved animals, and have owned an array of different kinds. I have always been the “dog lover” of the family. I have many special memories of dogs that I have had over the years. But with any pet comes the responsibility of having the supplies needed, and so it is with dog supplies as well. Not only do you need dog food, and to provide water, but you also will more than likely need a brush, some shampoo on occasion, some dog treats/toys, and ….well, you get the picture. Having a pet is not cheap, or at least to have a pet cared for properly. Take this into consideration before getting a pet!!!

I have so much going on right now, it’s making my head spin, literally. So much on my mind, so many thoughts, I can’t even begin to organize them, and tuck them away in the recesses of my mind!!

Some good stuff, like a Christmas party at work, and a trip to Topeka…Some mundane things, like the weather, and expensive but necesary trips to Walmart…And other things more pressing upon my heavy heart.

Have you ever worried about what you said to people, or what you put in your blog? You didn’t want it to be taken the wrong way, and end up insulting someone, when it didn’t mean it as an insult. Or maybe you wanted to share a story about your kids, but thought that it might be taken wrong by some people and end up casting looks your way that you don’t want cast.

Like, I would like to tell you a stoy about Megan, and burn she got several years ago, a burn that I classify a Miracle burn, but don’t want it taken the wrong way….The reason I call it that is because I think it’s a miracle she didn’t scar.

This is a song that my family has loved for quite awhile. the original artist was Red Solvine, but I couldn’t find the words by him, so this was the closest I could get…Finding lyrics has become really hard, for the song that I would like to post, but maybe because the songs that I like are rather old.

Last night I had an unexpected night off from work, because I had gone to Emporia, got home and layed down for a few hours, because I had to work…but when I got up, I started vomitting…So I called off…Spent all of last night vomitting…fun fun! Today I am still very tired and ache all over, but other than that I’m fine!

Haven’t done much today…So much to do, and so little time, but I am just wiped out today! Did get some of my Christmas cards all ready to go, and a few still that I need to put pictures in, and then they will all be ready.

Still have a bunch of presents to wrap, 2 to finish making, a house to clean, school to catch up on, and well the list goes on and on.

A Random Act of Kindness…This is the topic for this week on More Than Rubies…Really it is a too part “assignment” as Kris would also like us to tell how we keep the lines of communication open with our families, but I’ll get to that in a moment…

First I would like to apologize for being REALLY late doing this entry…As I have said in previous entries, it’s been a rough couple of days…

Okay, now onto business. The question of how I keep the lines of communication open really had me stumped. I am a single Mom, who homeschools, and while I do work outside the home, the rest of the time I am home with my children…So I never really thought about how to keep the communication going with my children…Seems to me that sometimes they communicate a little too much!!! *LOL* However with more thought on this subject, I do see times when we do more meaningful communication…Those times would be when they are snuggling into bed, I’ll often go in and talk to them, about the day, or whatever they might have on their minds…Other times, it’s when we are doing an art/craft project, which we have been doing a lot more often lately. I always thought of this as “normal” communication, but I see now, that this will help the girls to see that I am interested in their thoughts, and feelings, hopefully for the rest of their lives they will feel that they can talk to me about anything.

Okay, now onto the random acts of kindness. I think one of the best ways to do an ARK during this holiday season, the season of giving, is to make, or get a gift for someone that doesn’t expect it!! It could be something that they will like, a dust  collector or a pretty smelling candle or whatever, but I am a big believer in usable gifts…Whether it be new bath towels, food, or well, there is an endless supply of usable things that will be a blessing to almost anyone.
