I’m not really into cars that much, nor am I particularly into guys that are into cars…Especially guys that “live” to go to websites like www.corvetteguys.com, and spend hours just scanning what they have to offer…
Now don’t get me wrong, there are certain cars that I like the looks of, but really it does not matter to me if I ever own one of these cars or not…A personal favorite of mine is the OLD mustangs!! Talking back in the 60’s kind of old…If memory serves me correctly I like the mustangs that are before ‘68…It’s been so long that I can’t even remember the years of the cars I like!! *LOL* Guess that shows how important having that special car is to me!
I’m just a simple girl…if the car runs, has a/c and heat I’m pretty happy, and that’s the kind of guy I’d like too…One that’s not hung up on whether he has the newest, coolest looking car/truck, or one that has to have the hottest looking classic car in the state…*LOL* That’s just not me!!
I don’t even like the body style on most/all the cars nowadays…Back 30 years or so, you could tell the make and model of the car, just by looking at it…Now, they all look the same!! However I do like the fact that the newer ones do better on gas, and do have good a/c…*L* The heated seats in the winter would be nice too, not that I’ve ever had one with this feature, but on cold, icy nights like tonight, it would be kind of nice I think…
Anyway, cars just aren’t my thing really.

The girls have gotten really centered around competition…always asking or saying that they did something better than XXX…I’m not thrilled with this!!! I am forever telling them that it does not matter if they did something better than someone else, but what does matter is that they did it the best they could!!
I can see the point about if Mary sees Jim doing a better job, than she will strive to do better herself, but on the other hand…I think this world is too centered around being “better than everyone else”…I thought one of the points to life itself was to be the best that YOU can be…not the best that everyone else is….To do the best that YOU can do, not the best that everyone else can do!!
I can not say that I condone the “spirit” of competition…Yes, I would let my girls play sports, if that’s what they wanted to do, but with the understanding that they were doing it for the fun of it! To try and better themselves at that sport…
When the girls and I play games, if someone starts getting a bad attitude because they are losing, it is an immediate game over…do not pass go…end of story…they have since learned that we are playing because it is fun to sit down and play cards or a board games together…no matter who wins or who loses…and that even though they lost this time, next time they might win…Or in the case of certain card games, or games like checkers, if one continually loses, they start paying more attention to the game, and making wiser choices as to their moves.
This is my take on competition.

Here I am again, faced with another entry about something I don’t even know what it is. I am supposed to be writing about elliptical, and I haven’t a clue what it is!!
I wish that on some of these entries, they would give us a little more to go on…At least then, we might be able to write intellegent posts!! Certain companies just require that you use their keyword, and they are not particular how you use it, as long as it is within an entry, and not just tacked onto the bottom of a personal, totally non-related entry…Usually I like these types of entries, but sometimes they can be hard, if you are not sure of what the keyword refers to.

Had an ice storm move in this morning, and it’s supposed to stick around until something like Tuesday….I am not thrilled about this!! I don’t really mind rain, or even snow, but the ice scares me, when I have to drive!!!
Went out to the car tonight, to find all but 1 door frozen shut!! Guess I will have to see about getting some of that de-icer spray stuff, and keep it handy for times like these…
Ran an errand this evening, to find the road were slick…The girls freaked out when we slid…I can’t say that I blame them, but it’s very distracting to me, to try and keep the car under control while they are screeching!!
Here’s praying for everyone’s safety as they travel the roads!!

Busy in the kitchen making all kinds of good treats, she was in a tizzy to find her tater mitts. She often used them, and now couldn’t seem to find them.
It was quite possible that one of the kids had run off with them, for some unknown reason. The kids were the light of her life! They were forever running off with the strangest things, for some latest, greatest idea of their’s. She smiled when she thought of them…
