New Year’s Resolutions

December 30th, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | No Comments »

Well, if you look at the top of my sidebar, you will now see the things I hope to accomplish in 2008. I have some that I’m going to try REALLY hard to accomplish, and others that I will work on, and hopefully accomplish…

I have tried to keep my goals realistic, as I have a habit of starting things, and than not finishing them, or doing something for awhile, and than stopping. I truly hope that this year will be different for me!! I truly hope that God will keep these goals in my heart and my mind, so that I may continue to have the will and the desire to accomplish these things!!!

What are your resolutions/goals for this new year??

Update On Life

December 28th, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | 2 Comments »

Well, let me start off with the latest news, as if you couldn’t tell…I changed my template!! Isn’t it cool??? It’s just one of those freebie downloads, as I’m not knowledgable enough to make templates, but I thought it was really cool!!!

Onto other stuff…

Please continue praying for my family!!!! This is a very trying time for us right now, on several different levels, so all prayers are very greatly appreciated!!!

Christmas has come and gone…Is it sad to say that I’m glad it’s done and over for this year?? Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy, and yet, I just couldn’t muster the joy this year. The tree will be coming down today..I’m tired of it being in the way, and finding ornaments all over my house, because 2 of my darling cats just can’t seem to understand that the ornaments are supposed to STAY on the tree!! *L* They have had fun this year, that’s for sure!!!!

All in all, it was a good Christmas, or as good as it could be anyway. I had to work Christmas Eve, which had the girls a bit upset, but they dealt with it. It put me in an awkward position, as far as being Santa was concerned. The girls were still up when I went to work, so couldn’t do the stockings then, and when I got home in the morning, Meg woke up as soon as I opened the door…She told me that Santa had not come, and ran off to show me her empty stocking…*sigh*…Time for the truth, which was long overdue I was to find out!!! I think I will put the whole story in a later entry. In any case, we opened presents, than we headed out to my sister’s to spend the day. Opened more presents when we got there…ate, and than we headed home so I could get a bit of sleep before work…

It’s snowed off and on here…Again, I think that will be a later entry, if I don’t forget, or get too busy with other things.

Computer work has come to a standstill for me, basically….The worldly part of me keeps wanting to worry, but I everytime I start to worry, I try to remind myself that “God will supply all of my needs, according to His riches in glory”..Don’t ask me where that is in the Bible, because I can’t remember off the top of my head, but I know it’s in there somewhere!! *LOL*

I have so many entries in my head, and haven’t gotten any of them done…We have Santa, snow, praying in tongues, how much I hate my vacuum, and probably a few more stuck in my head somewhere, just need to get them typed out…

Anyway, I guess that’s about it, for now anyway….Hugs, Love, and Blessings!!!

A Poem

December 25th, 2007 -- Posted in Family News, Jokes/Special Stories | 5 Comments »

I wrote a poem today, or I guess it would be called a poem…I guess you could say that I wrote it, for everyone that has a child away…No matter the age of the child, or the reason they are gone, this prayer is for you!!!

**********************************************************************

Bless this child who is far from us tonight.

Keep Your arms of love wrapped around him tight.

Soon to be brought back to our sight, this child who is far from us tonight.

Psalm 17

December 22nd, 2007 -- Posted in Saturday Psalm & Praise | 2 Comments »

This seems to fit today…

*********************************************************

Hear a just cause, O Lord, Attend to my cry; Give ear to my prayer which is not from deceitful lips.

Let my vindication come from Your presence; Let Your eyes look on the things that are upright.

You have tested my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have tried me and have found nothing; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

Concerning the works of men, By the word of Your lips, I have kept away from the paths of the destroyer.

Uphold my steps in Your paths, That my footsteps may not slip.

I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech.

Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand. O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them.

Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings,

From the wicked who oppress me, From my deadly enemies who surround me.

They have closed up their fat hearts; With their mouths they speak proudly.

They have now surrounded us in our steps; They have set their eyes, crouching down to the earth,

As a lion is eager to tear his prey, And like a young lion lurking in secret places.

Arise, O Lord, Confront him, cast him down; Deliver my life from the wicked with Your sword,

With Your hand from men, O Lord, From men of the world who have their portion in this life,

Blizzard Anyone??

December 22nd, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | No Comments »

*LOL* Okay, well it may not be a blizzard, but it’s deffinitely nasty weather! It was snowing this morning when I got up, but decided to go ahead out to my sister’s house, as we had plans for an early dinner.

Was out there for acouple of hours when I looked out the window, and saw that the wind was blowing, and it was snowing again…Decided right in the middle of watching Born Free, that it was time to head for home…Took me almost an hour to make the 20 minute trip. Roads weren’t too bad, but visibility was nil. Made it home safely though, and are now snuggled inside, safe and warm.

Since then, it’s been snowing more, and the wind has been blowing…I would say the likelyhood of the roads out to my sister’s being drifted shut is pretty strong!! Which makes me glad we came home when we did, as I have animals here to take care of, and so prefer not to be stuck anywhere.

In any case, I guess we’ll have a white Christmas after all…

Bullion

December 22nd, 2007 -- Posted in Piggy Bank | No Comments »

Have you ever thought of purchasing silver, gold or other precious metals and coins? Well, Monex Deposit Company makes it easy for you to get immediate personal delivery or arrange for convenient and safe storage at an independent bank or depository.

They have been around for over 30 years, and the Monex companies have been America’s gold, silver and precious metals investment leader.

There may never be a better time for buying silver bullion than right now. It is said that world demand for silver now exceeds annual production, and has every year since 1990. Above ground stockpiles of silver bullion are low, shrinking rapidly and approaching zero. The U.S. government – once the largest stockpiler of silver on the planet – has dumped billions and billions of ounces of silver bars onto the world market, effectively depressing silver prices. Today, that government silver hoard is gone . . . and now the U.S. government is a silver buyer. For these reasons, silver bars represent an outstanding investment opportunity.

Buying gold has been recognized for centuries as one of the best ways to preserve one’s wealth and purchasing power. Gold bullion is a great investment. In all ages, man has been fascinated with the beauty and magic of gold, and with its power to change men’s lives.

Fighting For Christmas Spirit

December 22nd, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | 2 Comments »

I was loaded on Christmas Spirit, but events have stolen that from me…so now I find myself fighting for Christmas Spirit…Had the lights on everyday, up until recently. Tonight has been the first night that we’ve had the lights on…

I have to finish wrapping presents, and really have no desire to!! I’m out of time though, so it needs done!!

I usually love Christmas music, but haven’t had that on either….Trying to hold on to the wonder and magic of the season, Jesus’ birth, but even that is tough right now…

It’s to the point if it wasn’t for the girls, I wouldn’t even do anything on Christmas, not this year!!! *sigh* But they’ve been waiting, they are excited that it’s only 3 days away, so onward we go…and off I go to do some wrapping.

I’m wishing you all a very blessed Christmas, and hope that you will continue to pray for my family!!!

General Stuff

December 22nd, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | No Comments »

Not much out of the ordinary going on around here. I ended up taking 3 days off work this past week. Thank God for paid time off!!! One night was a family thing, and than the other two nights were because the girls were sick. Have to say my boss was incredibly, and very unexpectedly helpful with my time off!!! Which was a blessing!!! I really didn’t have to choose between my family and my job (which would be no choice at all in my mind), because I can’t afford to be out of a job right now!!

Have to get the rest of the Christmas presents wrapped tonight, or tomorrow, since I will be working all week, I won’t be able to do it Sunday or Monday night…Thankfully I already have some of them done, so I don’t have a lot to do, but it will still take me awhile…

Weather has been pretty nice around here lately. I couldn’t tell you a temperature if I wanted to, since I never pay attention to the weather reports…But no snow or ice, no nasty north winds…Kids would have been able to play outside all week, had they not been sick….

That’s all for now.

Gold Cufflinks

December 22nd, 2007 -- Posted in Piggy Bank | No Comments »

If these gold cufflinks could talk, they would have a grand story to tell. Fancy balls and parties they had been too, the many months that one was lost under the bed….Being worn to the hospital, when the baby unexpectedly decided to come during a party….High school graduation, weddings, births and birthdays….oh the story these cufflinks could tell.

Passed down from generation to generation, the life that these cufflinks have experienced. It’s an amazing story, all left untold.
