I Called Off

from work last night…I went to lay down for a little while, and Desi came in and asked if I was okay….I told her that I was just upset about things at work, which I had told them a couple of days before…Well, we continued talking, and I just ended up crying….It upset Meg as it always does, and made Des a little upset as well, but at least they knew I wasn’t upset with them!!!

The more I thought about work, the more I cried, the more sick feeling I got…Meg, my beautiful Meg says “Why don’t you call off”…I explained that I shouldn’t call off, because we need the money, and it’s really hard to find someone to cover my shift, and well…as I talked, I realized I just couldn’t face going to work…So I did call off.

Laurie was less than pleased…kept asking me why I was calling off…I kept telling her that something came up…I don’t really think she would have liked me telling her that I hate my job, that her nasty notes and the stress she adds to my job was the reason that I sat at home all afternoon crying…and why I couldn’t face going to work!!!

Tonight I don’t feel any better about work, but just can’t call off again!!! I have half an hour before I have to go in, and right now, it’s like my heart is dying!!! Tears are close to the surface, and well….I’m sure you get the point.

To top it all off, I have to go to a staff meeting on Friday….My day off, my escape from that place, from her, and I have to go to a staff meeting or get written up!!

God please help me!!! Show me what I’m supposed to do!!!!

My Dream Vacation

My dream vacation right now would be…..going anywhere besides here!!!

Spending Alot

of time praying these last few days…Work has become unbearable to me, and I just am not sure what to do!! I keep thinking that God might be leading me somewhere else, but I don’t know if that’s really the case, or if I’m just hoping, wishing that is the case!! So, I’ve been praying for guidence…wisedom in doing what He wants to me to do. By all means, join me in prayer!! Any and all help would be appreciated!!!

Alzheimer’s Estore

I used to work in an Alzheimer’s unit, back when I was a certified nurse aid. I can’t impress upon you enough, that good quality care is essential! Yes, finding a cure is important, but we can’t forget about the people that are already affected by this disease! I worked in nursing homes for several years, and I worked in several different ones, and I can tell you that the quality of care was vastly different from place to place.

Have you ever thought of shopping for holiday gifts at the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America eStore? I have to admitt, I hadn’t! One of the great things about doing that, is that all all proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. They have some great gifts at their store!! They even have gifts for caregivers…I especially liked their “Hearts of Care” jewelry…On their site, they said this

“Caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or related illnesses give from the deepest recesses of their hearts, inspiring the world with their courage, dedication and hope. Embrace the spirit. Share this inspirational heart. Show you care—about caregivers, loved ones and the cause.”

Although I don’t believe that it is limited to Alzheimer’s or related diseases, I do believe that caregiver’s give from the deepest recesses of their hearts!! I know from experience that it can be a very stressful, and sometimes heartbreaking job!! They teach you not to get attached to the people, but anyone that does their job with any kind of love, they get attached!! When “my people” as I always called them, passed away, or their medical condition became worse, my heart would break…

The holidays are a good time to gift a donation or buy a gift from the eStore. Let’s make looking for a cure possible, but lets also remember that quality care now, is just as important!!!
