Monday Memories

November 5th, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | No Comments »

Well, right now my mind is all filled with my work problems right now, so I guess I will write that as my memories….

I remember when I used to love my job! I would go in every night, without thought of calling off….When my days off ended, I would not dread going back to work.. I remember when I looked forward to going to work, that sense of accomplishment that I would get from doing my job well!

That’s all changed now!! I dread going to work every night!! I have no sense of accomplishment, because no matter how much I get done everynight, I’m told that it’s not enough, I’m told it’s not good enough, I’m told that even though I did those things, she doesn’t believe that I did. Every night I have thoughts of calling off work, all the while knowing that I can’t….

Last night, I felt physically sick, when it was time to go to work…Not because I was really sick, but because of stress, dread of having to go in and read what nasty notes were left…While I know it’s wrong to “hate”…at this point I have to admitt that I HATE my job!! Isn’t it amazing how one person can make someone feel so rotten??

Holiday Shopping

November 5th, 2007 -- Posted in Piggy Bank | No Comments »

This year I have done quite a bit of my Christmas shopping online. It saves the hassle of traffic and shopping with 2 blessings that don’t always want to behave properly, plus I get the added benefit of using online coupons!

There are still many items that I would like to get for various family members and friends. Sears coupons would come in handy for a ladder for my Dad, as well as some really cool board games for the kids.

Barnes and Noble coupons would be great too, considering I can ALWAYS find books that I want to buy!!! *LOL*

My list could go on and on, but I won’t…Who wants to hear about all the stuff that I want to get, but probably won’t be able to today.

Bubble’s Computer

November 5th, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | No Comments »

Well, my sister has been fighting with her computer for something like a week now…We think it picked up a virus, worm, or trojan…and Bubble has spent the week downloading different anti-virus programs and such, but with no luck…

Today she called to tell me that she was taking the computer to a shop in Topeka, since she can’t get it fixed herself. *LOL* I feel for her, I would go nuts without my computer!!!

Mortgages

November 5th, 2007 -- Posted in Piggy Bank | No Comments »

Do you know anything about mortgages? I didn’t know much, and really I still don’t know all the ins and outs of them, but I do know more than what I did before.

With my sister’s recent problems of being told to move or buy her house, we got a quick introductory course on financing, and mortgages. *LOL* What supprised me the most, I think, is the fact that cheap mortgages aren’t as non-exisistant as I originally thought, assuming of course that you are not trying to mortgage a million dollar home! *LOL*

Something I don’t know is what buy to let mortgages are. That one is beyond me, and well, I just haven’t had the time to go find out, but with me wanting to find a place to buy, I’m sure I’ll be doing more research on the subject!

Update on Bible Reading

November 5th, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | No Comments »

Well, I’m into Psalms now. A personal favorite of mine, of course that’s said by many people, but still.

I must say that my memory of Job was pretty faulty. Here I was thinking that he was such an upstanding, faithful servant of God, through all his trials. While he never cursed the name of God, he was not exactly pleasant through his troubles either. The day he cursed the day of his birth, well isn’t that almost the same as cursing God??

Tutors

November 5th, 2007 -- Posted in Piggy Bank | No Comments »

I’ve often wondered if someone else teaching or helping Meg would help her to do better. I homeschool my girls, as I have often said, and well, Meg is my parenting challenge, as well as my student challenge. Perhaps an Innovative Tutor would have better luck than I am, at inspiring Meg.

Score Learning has what looks to be a great tutoring program..and yet, at this point, I think I will just try muddling through on our own right now, but perhaps later I will try Score.

1st Grade Has Arrived

November 5th, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | No Comments »

Well Desi has finally started her first grade work! I am so happy!!! I don’t think she will have any problems with the first grade work…

I am not sorry at all that I made her re-do her Kindergarten stuff again. As I’ve said before, I didn’t believe that she had a strong grasp on the material, and therefore did not think she should move on, as I think it would have just made the 1st grade stuff all the more difficult!! Now, however, she has a strong grasp on the Kindergarten stuff, so I think she will breeze right through the 1st grade stuff…

Abeka kind of eases you into a full schedule, which I find to be irratating, but I want to keep on schedule for now…I don’t think it will be that difficult in a few weeks for her to start moving ahead in these books, which is ultimately what I’m hoping for. If we encounter more problems than I expect, than we will slow down, no big deal…she will catch up to her supposed grade eventually.
