Australia

I have wanted to go to Australia for quite sometime…That, I think would be my #2 place to go in the world, with Ireland being my first.

Brisbane Hotels and Hotels in Adelaide far exceed ones expectations, as does the country it’self.

I mean, look at this picture, and tell me you don’t want to go??

There are so many great things to do in Australia!! Here are a few things that I would like to do! I would like to go to the Adelaide Zoo. The Adelaide Zoo exhibits more than 1,400 native and exotic mammals, birds, reptiles and fish.

Belair National Park. Dedicated in 1891, Belair is South Australia’s oldest National Park. You may well be surprised by the beautiful varieties of orchids and other wildflowers in bloom or the lively and colourful displays of our native birdlife.

South Australia Museum - Located in Adelaide the South Australia Museum offers a variety of displays and exhibitions. I’m always up for museums!!

Another place I would LOVE to go to, would be Cleland Wildlife Park. It sounds so awesome!!! There you can find Australia’s unique range of marsupials, reptiles, and birds is unsurpassed on any continent on earth. Koalas, kangaroos, wombats, emus, parrots, and goannas to name a few, have all adapted brilliantly to their Australian environment over millions of years. At Cleland Wildlife Park, visitors are encouraged to mingle with, observe, pat, feed, and learn about hundreds of southern Australian native animals.

Adelaide Hotels will keep you close to all the best sights to see!!!

Can I Erase Last Night??

November 2nd, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | 2 Comments »

Last night didn’t start out well…I layed down after dinner, set my alarm (3 of them actually), and still ended up oversleeping…Luckily enough I woke up before I was late for work…but I only had 10 minutes to get ready and go…

I get to work, and than the real bomb drops on my night!! Yesturday morning I had left a note in our staff communication book..Here is my exact words…”Why are we doing Ruby’s and Artie’s laundry?”

Now, my explanation behind this, is that our policy is to offer the LEAST amount of assistance to our people as possible. We are trying to teach them life skills, like doing their laundry, so that one day, they might be able to live on their own. We have scheduled laundry days for everyone, but Artie, if given the chance will have staff do her laundry for her, so she doesn’t have to…and Ruby’s laundry day is Thursday, but instead I had to do it on Wednesday night….

The reply I got from my manager, in the staff communication book, for ALL the staff to see, was (exact wording)

“B/C I asked you to finish Ruby’s. It is your job! Hers sets in her hamper wet and stinky, she started it, but may not have finished it (like last weeks wet towels in the hamper) so I think staff can “assist” her w/ this- Do you have a problem with this? It is part of our job to assist in all chores they don’t get done- laundry included.”

Well, I have news for her, I was the one that did ALL of Ruby’s laundry, she didn’t start it…She wouldn’t have started it!! She knows her laundry day is Thursday, not Wednesday!!!!!

I was in tears!!! I was/am so hurt and upset!!! To get ripped like that, for asking a simple question, and in the staff book…She didn’t even have the decency to do it in a private note, or in person, she had to put it out there for all the staff to see!!

And as far as telling me my job….I have worked for this company, doing this job for a year and a half, she just started in July!!! I have NEVER had anyone complain about my work preformance, NEVER had anyone say that I wasn’t doing a good job!!! I bust my rear every night at that house, to go above and beyond what’s expected, and it’s NEVER enough to please her!!!!

At this point, I hate my job!!!! I wish I didn’t work there!!!!!
