Trusted Tours

November 30th, 2007 -- Posted in Piggy Bank | No Comments »

Trusted Tours and Attractions offers discounted tickets to the best sightseeing tours, and I would soooooo love to go to San Diego, and participate in some of their tours!!

Before I tell you about some of the different tours that they offer in San Diego, I’ll tell you that they have about 20 other cities, that they offer tours in. Including Washington DC, Philadelphia, Savannah, Charleston, and many other great cities!! They all offer their own unique tours, depending on the area, history, and sites to see!!

In San Diego, I would like to go on one of their Trolley Tours, and the Zoo Tour is a MUST!! I also think that the Seal Harbour tour would be great, as well as the San Diego Wild Animal Park tour…Can you tell I like animals?? *LOL*…They also have an air and space museum that would be really cool, I think.

Plus, Trusted Tours is doing a GREAT giveaway…anyone who signs up for the Trusted Travel e-Newsletter is automatically entered to win 4 free tickets to tours in a city of their choice. Offer ends Friday, December 14th, 2007. Oh wouldn’t that be cool?? Check them out, and sign up!!

Christmas Joy

November 27th, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | 3 Comments »

As Christmas draws closer, I get more and more excited. It is my favorite holiday!! The best part of Christmas, for me, is the giving!

I give in honor of Christ giving His life for me!

I pray that I am able to teach my children the love of giving as well!! This year they are seeing more than they have in past years, because I am right in the middle of a gift project for one of my friends…I had hopes of making it a family project, to involve them in the giving, but the project is a little beyond them this year, but have big plans in the works for next year, in which they will be more able to take part in. Plus they are involved to a point this year, because they see what I’m doing, and they know why I am doing it…I tell them that it is a joy to give.

Don’t get me wrong, I love getting presents too! Lovely books, or some much needed jeans, or other things, but my Joy of Christmas is being able to give to others, as Jesus gave to me!

Besides, I’ve already been given the greatest of gifts!! Jesus’ love and my life with Him, and my two children, who are truly Angels sent from Heaven.

Park West Art

November 27th, 2007 -- Posted in Piggy Bank | No Comments »

I have never shown much interest in art. I can recognize some of the “great” paintings, such as the Mona Lisa, but that’s about the extent of my art appreciation…However, I am always trying to provide my girls with new experiences and discoveries. Des has said that she would like to be an artist, and so I try to encourage this interest.

I think taking her to Park West Art Gallery would be really cool!! They are home to one of the largest collections of fine art in the world, or so I was told. The Park West Gallery also conducts fine art auctions throughout the United States and Canada. AND their affiliate company, Park West at Sea, conducts cruise ship art auctions around the world.

No Energy

November 27th, 2007 -- Posted in Family News | No Comments »

Well, have gotten maybe 2, or 3 hours of sleep today if I’m lucky. Have so many things to do, and yet, I just don’t feel like doing any of them!!

Kids have been arguing for like 3 days basically nonstop…Is driving me mental!!! To tell them to stop arguing just hasn’t been doing the trick, even timeouts or earlier bedtimes, have had no effect. Am rather unsure of what to do, to curb their arguing…Wish their was a Bible verse that said something like “Thou shalt not argue!”…*LOL* I’d have them repeat it a thousand times every time I heard them arguing!!

Well anyway, acouple of more entries to do, and than I’m off to the shower.

Holiday Bundle

NOTE: This entry should stay at the top of my blog until Dec.8th, assuming my time stamping works right!! *LOL*

Holiday Bundle
Well my friend Jocelyn is doing a GREAT holiday giveaway….You’ll have to go check it out, to see all the stuff she is giving away, and how she has been blessed by many great companies donating things!!! You can find her post about it HERE.*******************************************************************I am supposed to blog about a special memory from the past, but for me to pick just one is torture!!!It could be the year we did Christmas by candlelight, because our power was off…That was a quite, and rather magical Christmas.Or maybe it’s the first Christmas after Des was born. We spent it with his family, and I was so nervous about being a new mother, I was afraid everyone would think I was a horrible parent, because Des was fussy. But it was also a magical Christmas, because that’s the first time that I got to share Christmas with my sweet angel that was sent by God.

Meg’s first Christmas is also such a sweet memory!! Des was 2 years old, and just “getting” into Christmas, and trying to share all with her baby sister!! The girls would sit on the floor (Meg in her bouncy seat or car seat) and watch the twinkling lights on the tree for hours together…

Last year was a very special Christmas too, because it was the first time in 6 years or so, that the girls had gotten to spend Christmas, or even be close, with Grandpa and Aunt Bubble!! The first year that I saw my nephew open his gifts. The first time in oh so long that I could enjoy Christmas with my family!!

So like I said, to choose just one special memory just wouldn’t work for me!! I hope that’s okay Jocelyn!!

Sunday Scribblings-Misspent Youth

November 27th, 2007 -- Posted in Sunday Scribblings | 1 Comment »

Well, I think whether my youth was misspent depends on who you talk to. From my perspective, I was generally a mature child, not too wild, but always pushing the limits a bit more than my sister, at least in certain cases.

I always hungered for friends, more friends than I already had, which looking back was one way that I misspent my youth…not being appreciative for the friends that I already had!!

Another way, and I think the greatest way that I misspent my youth, was always seeking everyone’s approval. From family members to strangers, it didn’t matter to me, I wanted their approval, their praise.

Something else that I spent way too much time thinking about, was how unhappy I was with myself!! From my attitude to my body, it didn’t matter there either, I was never happy with the person I was…Now, I wish I was more like the person I used to be, and am seeking to find that person inside of me…..
