Who doesn’t share files?? In this age of electronics and increasing technology, it’s a popular pasttime. Sharing picture files, or information files, or well, you name it, and we do it. But you know, there is a hitch in the game plan here, when you are with an email company that has a limit on file sizes…. Well that’s where Driveway – Online File Sharing comes in. You can use driveway links for files up to 500MB in size! You can also post driveway links in blogs. How awesome is this???
Driveway is a new, FREE web-based service for online file sharing. Who can beat free?? Actually come to think of it, I can think of a couple of different companies that do this same thing, BUT they aren’t free!!!!!
They are forever upgrading their service as well. They are expecting to add some newer features including password protection, folder uploads and such in near future.
Well, I went in and talked to the big boss today…Did not go as well as I had hoped, but not horribly either… I told her of my issues and concerns with the new House Manager, and well, basically all she had to say was
“Remember she is new, and only has been on the job for 2 weeks or so. I think you should talk to her (HM) about your problems and concerns, and see where it goes from there.”
Deffinetely NOT the reaction I was hoping for, but I guess in a way she’s right. Laurie is new, and didn’t get a lot of training as to how things work, previous to her being HM that is. But in so many ways, I think she’s trying too hard to make her mark on the house…and no two ways about it, I still have issues with her, and I doubt any little chat that I have with her is going to change that.
However, the boss did say that I should have Andrea at the meeting…Andrea is another big wig, over Laurie, but not the big boss…Anyway, that way Andrea could be a witness to this meeting, so there wouldn’t be any “he said, she said” situation. AND the boss said that if I was still having a problem, than I could go talk to her again, and she would do some checking into it…
I still wish for more, but at least the boss is now aware of some things…
There are many ways of dieting….Shying away from certain foods, smaller portions, lots of exercise, Slim Fast and simular items, and the ever popular diet pills, also called appetite suppressants. I can’t say that I have ever done any of these things….I have started going to the Rec Center, to exercise, but not with the express purpose of losing weight, although I would be more than happy to lose a few pounds…
It’s not that I haven’t thought about using some sort of diet pill, perhaps something with Phentermine in it, because I have thought about it more than once. I don’t know, I feel kind of funny taking a pill when I don’t necesarily need one. I figure if you take pills, well, there is a NEED for them, more than just a “want”…
I’m sure a lot of you have heard of Ephedra . It is also known as Ma Huang. It is most commonly known for being a component in weight loss, and dietary supplement pills. But did you also know that it is also used for treating bronchial asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, persistent coughs, wheezing and shortness of breath. Ma huang can help the body to break fevers and clear blocked sinuses. I had no idea it was used for so many different things.
It has been used in China for more than 4000 years. Varieties of the herb are also grown in Europe, India, Australia and Afghanistan. American ephedra, native to the dry southwest, was used as tea by the early settlers, and was known as “Mormon tea” and “Squaw tea.” I have read books about Mormon tea, and Squaw tea, but had no idea that they were talking about Ephedra.
To say that Spain has a lot to offer, is kind of an understatement as far as I’m concerned. But when traveling to Spain, one must think of hotels, and so I say check out Cheaper Than Hotels
Spain has a population of about 36 million people…Wow, that’s a lot of people, but it doesn’t take away from the beauty of Spain, nor does it deter the 1000′s of people that vacation there every year. In the summer time, charter flights jet millions of visitors in on planes packed with holidaymakers heading for the beach, a sun tan and holiday entertainment. Many choose to make the journey by road, coming from Germany, UK, France and elsewhere. Spain has become a much more diverse place to enjoy a holiday with the cities of Madrid, Seville and Barcelona offering sophisticated dining and entertainment to balance the beach going holiday makers from Europe’s North, and if you’re looking for exercise, I hear backpacking is a popular way to see Spain as well.
Barcelona has always intrigued me…Hotels In Barcelona fit every vacation as well. From ultra modern for business conferences, to historic and quaint for those that are seeking to know what Spain looked once upon a time.
Spain Hotels offer not only year round pricing, but also last minute deals…How cool is that!!!
It’s a beautiful country, so why not take a visit..
I guess I have fooled around on the computer long enough…especially since I am at work, and have been on here for like 2 hours or so…Hope none of you tell my boss!!! *LOL*
Anyway, I have to get off here, and go do some real work now…Have lunches to make, chips to put in sandwhich bags, might throw in a load or two of laundry…
Sure hope the new HM doesn’t find anything else to complain about!!! I came in tonight to find a nasty note saying that it had been my responsibility friday morning to give someone their meds…Well excuse me for not knowing that, but previously it had NEVER been my responsibility!!!
Anybody know any Reading Tutors ? I do, at Score Learning…Well okay, I don’t “know” them, but I have been to their webpage, and read about them. From what I’ve read, I’m impressed, and eager to know more.
They have so many programs to offer!! Not only do they do reading tutors, but they also have math help, and a summer camp too. Isn’t that awesome??
But today, we are talking about their reading tutors. Score Learning centers helps children ages 4 to 14 make significant academic progress in an innovative tutoring environment.
Now, I’m not sure what they classify an innovative tutoring environment, but if it can help Meg and Des, than I’m all for trying it!!!
THE BRICK
A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag’s side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, “What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That’s a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?” The young boy was apologetic. “Please, mister…please, I’m sorry but I didn’t know what else to do,” He pleaded. “I threw the brick because no one else would stop…” With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. “It’s my brother, “he said “He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can’t lift him up.”
Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, “Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He’s hurt and he’s too heavy for me.” Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. “Thank you and may God bless you,” the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy! push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home. It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message:
“Don’t go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!” God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don’t have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It’s our choice to listen or not.

Sara Orem, PhD, an adjunct faculty member at Capella University online degrees, an accredited, fully online university, has co-authored a new book titled Appreciative Coaching: A Positive Process for Change. I have to say that I’m interested in this book.
Recent developments in psychology and organizational development suggest that people and organizations flourish when they focus on human ideals, achievements, and best practices. Appreciative Coaching uses positive questions, mindfulness, and other tools to acknowledge the strengths of individuals and effect change.
“Rather than focusing on individuals in limited or problem-oriented ways, Appreciative Coaching guides the reader through four stages – Discovery, Dream, Design and Destiny – that inspire them to an appreciative and empowering view of themselves and their future,”
I like the sound of their 4 stages!! Most particularly the first 2. I am in a state of discovery now, and as always, I have my dreams.
I do however have issues with this “that the book is written for individual coaches of managers, executives, and “those who do one-on-one work with people who can influence and create change in their organizations.” Can’t everyone influence change?? I mean that’s like saying “I’m not a manager, or an exec, so I don’t have the responsibility to try and influence change.
I found this quote in an email, and I am astounded by how true it is, or should be.
“Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: ‘Wow! What a ride!’” – Robert Wickman
Let me tell you, I already feel pretty worn out, and used up!! I pray to God every day for wisdom and guidance, for patience and understanding…In my own life, the lives of my children, in my work life, in knowing how to raise my children the right way….I have yet to feel really at peace, but I know as long as I keep putting it in God’s hands, everything will work out.
Peace Be With You My Friends!!!
